deprive chopped coins of the status of legal tender and not to prohibit their circulation but that is because at the time when the ordinance was passed there were no Fritish dollars in circulation and the terms of the C(rdinance prevented them when imported from being chopped. But if you do not prohibit the circulation as well as the legal tender of chopped 'lexican dollars i have little doubt that such dollars will continue merrily in circulation.
Yours very truly,
